But by making them individual-sized, they become even more fun, versatile, and quick to whip up.
Whether you’re prepping for a dinner party, afternoon tea, or just want an easy treat to enjoy on a cozy night in, these mini bakes are exactly what you need.
Why Mini Apple Crumbles Are a Must-Bake
Perfect Portions – No slicing or scooping needed. Everyone gets their own.
Quick & Easy – 10 mins of prep, 20 mins in the oven.
No Fancy Equipment – Use ramekins, jars, muffin tins, or any small oven-safe dish.
Make-Ahead Friendly – Assemble ahead and bake fresh when needed.
Two layer equation:
1. The Fruit Base
A mix of diced apples tossed with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a splash of water. Soft, sweet, and just tart enough to balance the topping.
Fruit Variations:
Pear + ginger
Apple + blackberry (very British!)
Rhubarb + strawberry
Peach + raspberry
Frozen mixed berries (no need to thaw)
This recipe is very forgiving — use whatever fruit you’ve got.
2. The Crumble Topping
A buttery blend of flour, sugar, and oats. It bakes up crunchy and golden, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Tips for the best crumble topping:
Use cold butter cut into cubes for a crumbly texture.
Add a handful of oats for texture.
Mix in chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for a crunchy boost.
A pinch of salt enhances flavour massively.

Measure the flour and demerara sugar into a mixing bowl, then add the cold butter (cubed).
Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour and sugar until it resembles chunky breadcrumbs.
Stir in the oats.
Pour the crumble mixture over the fruit, spreading it out to the edges.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown on top.
Serve warm, with custard.
